Children, teens and families are faced with many stressors. Sometimes it is an obvious stressor such as divorce, illness or loss of a loved one and other times it is less discernible, day to day events that are difficult for someone who worries a lot, has low self-esteem or difficulties learning.
It is often challenging to see clearly and navigate effectively through our own difficulties. Sometimes what we need is an objective third party to help guide us in the right direction. As a counselor, I provide an environment where children and parents can feel accepted, supported and empowered. Honoring that each child and family situation is unique, I work with families to create an individualized intervention to help you identify and meet your goals. I approach counseling from a strength-based perspective and combine talk and creative therapies to meet each individual's developmental and therapeutic needs.
